ChatGPT's Task Scheduling: Automated Market Analysis
The new feature may end up replacing Google Alerts.
Hey, it's Matt. Welcome to AI Street Markets Edition—where I share tips and tricks with AI tools for investors.
In ten years, maybe less, we’ll need to explain what ‘Googling’ meant to a younger generation.
The idea of searching an endless internet for the right link will seem antiquated.
It’s already starting to happen.
Made with Ideogram
For 10+ years, I’ve been using Google Alerts — where Google sends you an email tied to specified keywords — to try stay up on topics I’m interested in. It’s an ok system, but it’s another list of links.
This week, OpenAI introduced the GPT-4o scheduled tasks feature, a tool that allows users to set automated reminders and execute recurring actions such as generating regular reports, scheduling alerts, or automating research within ChatGPT.
GPT-4o with Scheduled Tasks Key Points:
Available to: Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers
Status: Currently in beta
Main benefit: Automates recurring tasks like report generation and research alerts
Delivery: The results are emailed to you at specified times
Use case: Creates automated market summaries (example below)
The below is a summary of market news from the past week created by this new feature.
After the news, I’ll show you how to set this up for yourself.
AI-DRIVEN NEWS
I’ve added the text for readability:

With the new podcast, I’m retiring the Five Minutes with interview series. Given this transition and the fact I’ve added quite a few new readers over the last few weeks, I’m highlighting all of my previous interviews since starting AI Street last summer.
